Conceptualized through a lens of queer horror, Self-Mythology (2024) is a self-portrait reclaiming the impacts of gender based violence via the myth of the Korean 구미호 kumiho. A kumiho is a fox spirit who transforms into a human seductress, feeding upon the hearts and livers of men. The textile’s saturated color palette highlights the horrors and hypervisibility of queer femininity, while the neutral ground allows the figure to transition between the seen and unseen.
