Marsha P. Johnson (2019) is a digital illustration honoring Marsha’s legacy and her role in the Stonewall Riots. In 1969, Black and brown drag queens, trans folks, street sex workers, and disabled queers rose up against yet another NYPD police raid of the Stonewall Inn. Marsha P. Johnson, along with Sylvia Rivera and Stormé DeLarverie, were some of those involved in the uprising. Stonewall is what led to the Gay Liberation Movement and LGBTQ Pride.
Marsha P. Johnson has been published in the Twin Cities Pride Magazine alongside a poem commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots written by Lisa Marie Brimmer.
