Something Around Storytelling, 2025, Land to Sea, Brooklyn, NY


ALL OF MY GRANDPARENTS ARE REFUGEES (2024) queers traditional Korean and Hmong materials, methods, and aesthetics in this hand sewn Korean quilt, 보자기 bojagi. As I sewed, my shoulders ached from generations of women performing this same repetitive motion. My intuition dictated that I piece together a swath of cloth taller than me, while lines of a poem fell from my fingertips onto the fabric:
